Abstract This work focuses on the study the performance of SCPP under different values of the solar radiations by measuring some variables such as the temperatures of the air inside the system, electric power generation. This study is investigated theoretically by predicts the extracted power limit for the turbine located at the base of the chimney. This study Predicts the available and output power of the SCPP and the effect of changing the flow area configuration for the chimney on the available power of the solar chimney power plant according to modeling the SCPP on the commercial CFD (ANSYS 16.1). The experimental results show that the performance of the solar chimney is proportional to the solar radiations. The results indicate that the chimney divergence enhances the power and the velocity at the chimney base but with limits depending on the geometry of the system. |
