This study aimed at clarifying the most important skills of special processes by using strategic management in the senior management in higher Education institution in Egypt from its availability and importance for them, then clarifying the most important requirements to raise their efficiency by using strategic management. The study used a questionnaire applied on a sample of (452) member of the senior management, including some members of senior management form:(University President – University vice President – college dean - college vice dean – head of Department) in Egyptian Universities including practical and theoretical colleges in some Egyptian governorates, and the most important results that the study reached were that: the special skills of strategic management in senior management (planning – set aims – decision making – changing – organizing –analyzing- choosing alternatives – monitoring and evaluation). Were available on average, and its importance was clear, and it clarified the importance of the necessary requirements to raise the senior management efficiency by using strategic management which are (the availability of strategic thinking – strategic information systems- appropriate organized culture – preparing special training programs to develop the mental ability in senior management and activate the strategic thinking mechanisms in fore sighting the future – set general and clear policies to edit information inside the institution , seminars , workshops to deploy the values to make changes in institution culture , activate the partnership with local society institutions through educational , service projects with a share capital to apply the management mechanisms.
