Abstract

Patients with PD and AD showed a higher level of SNCA and MAPT autoantibodies, when compared with control group whereas, SNCA autoantibodies were the highest in PD, while MAPT autoantibodies were highest in AD.
Furthermore, there was high significant correlation between level of both SNCA and MAPT autoantibodies, either in PD or AD.
Correlation between various epidemiological and clinical data and levels of those antibodies showed there was high significant correlation regarding serum level of SNCA and age of parkinsonian patient while there was no correlations between PD and or H&Y scores, either on or and UDPDS. There was high statistical significant between the Alzheimer’s group and control group, regarding the age. There was significant correlation regarding level of MAPT autoantibody and the duration of illness, otherwise there was significant no correlation with other variables.
our aim is to investigate the value of the naturally occurring serum autoantibodies of tau and alpha synuclein proteins as potential Biomarkers for diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases.
