Abstract Background: diabetic foot complications especially foot ulcers are considered as a global problem with devastating human, social and economic impact and with a growing prevalence. Oxidative stress plays a pivotal role in the development of diabetes complications, both microvascular and macrovascular. The metabolic abnormalities of diabetes cause mitochondrial superoxide overproduction in endothelial cells of both large and small vessels. |
