Abstract

Three main acrylic models for completely edentulous patient were
fabricated and cut to make model from canine to canine .Implants with
similar diameter of 3.7mm but with different length 10, 13 and 16 mm made
of titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-Li V) were used in this study .A matched abutment
with different angle as 0˚, 10˚and 20˚ made of the same alloy material was
also used. The implant was placed with the long axis of bone in the middle of
anterior region of maxilla (esthetic zone). Three dimension finite element
model was designed using 3D digitizer (3D coordinate measuring machine
CMM) and the (abaques software version 6.12.1).A static 35N vertical force
and static 10N horizontal force were applied on the implant at three sites
(crestal, middle and apical).
All materials in the models were considered to be isotropic,
homogenous and lineary elastic represented by two material constants
(Young’s modulus and Poison’s ratio).
The stress generated within alveolar bone calculated using von mises’
stress criteria which represent the distribution of stress numerical and with
different color code.
Von mises’ equivalent stress value within the alveolar bone increase as
abutment angles increase from 0° to 20° at all site of stress measurement
under vertical and horizontal force.
