Abstract This thesis aims to study the truncated distribution of the range for a Wiener process. Some various statistical properties of the distribution including reliability properties, moments, stress-strength parameter, order statistics, Bonferroni curve, Lorenz curve and Gini’s index are calculated. In addition, a study of Markov chain with truncated states and some properties of this chain after truncationare also attempted.A search model for a randomly moving target which has a truncated Brownian motion is presented. Furthermore, the conditions that make the expected value of the first meeting time between the searcher and the target is found to be finite. |
