Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to develop, validate, sensitive, precise and accurate analytical methods for the analysis of certain drugs affecting gastrointestinal tract, namely; tiemonium methyl sulphate (TIM) , tramadol hydrochloride (TH), pantoprazole sodium (PNT), alizapride (ALZ) hydrochloride , itopride hydrochloride (ITH), trimebutine maleate (TRM), and ondansetron (OND) hydrochloride dihydrate in bulk and pharmaceutical preparations.
The thesis consists of four main parts:
Part I:
It includes the theoretical background and literature review of the selected drugs on the reported methods for their determination and also chemical structure, physical properties and pharmacological actions of the cited drugs.
Part II:
It describes high performance liquid chromatographic determination of various drugs with a brief introduction about this technique and it is divided into three chapters:
Chapter (1):
It describes stability indicating RP-HPLC method for determination of tiemonium methyl sulphate (TIM) in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations. The obtained results were compared with those of reference methods.
