Abstract Our study is conducted on 30 patients with age range 21-60 years (8 males & 22 females) who were presented by acute cholecystitis to gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery Unit from 1st of April 2015 to 30th March 2016. The main aim of this study was to evaluate laparoscopic cholecystectomy in treatment of acute cholecystitis. All patients presented with right side abdominal pain, RUQ tenderness with 24 cases (80%) had +ve murphy’s sign and in 20 cases (66.7%) pain was radiating to shoulder and back. 13 patients(43.3%) had palpable tender RUQ mass. 14 patients (46.7%) had high grade fever (above 38.5 degree) and 16 one (53.3%) had low grade (below 38.5 degree). All cases presented with elevated CRP ranging from 6-96 mg/dl with mean 44.6 while 21 cases had elevated TLC with mean 22700.48,7 (23.3%) and 5 (16.7%) cases showed elevated SGPT and SGOT respectively and 2 cases (6.7%) show elevated serum bilirubin level. 13 cases (43.3%) had positive H.Pylori Ag in stool and 8 cases (26.7%) showed positive H.C.V Ab in blood. |
