Abstract This study aimed to determine the difference between the effect of Laser and (E.S) on facial nerve regeneration. Thirty patients of both sexes with Bell’s palsy were included in this study. The patients were assessed by nerve conduction study (NCV) and electromyography (EMG). The amplitude was recorded from frontalis muscle at affected and unaffected side. .These assessments were measured two times, firstly before treatment and secondly after treatment. The conclusion from this study is that there is significant difference in favor of Laser than electrical stimulation on facial nerve regeneration in Bell’s palsy patients. Therefore, Laser is more effective than electrical stimulation in 1-electroneuromyography 2-latency 3-amplitude 4- Duration 5-area 6- motor unit 7- Presence of positive sharp wave 8- Presence of sign of regeneration Regarding electrical stimulation there is no significance in : 1-electroneuromyography 2-latency 3-amplitude 4-present of positive sharp wave 5-sign of regeneration But there is significance in duration and motor unite. On the other side, in Laser group there is high significance between pre and post treatment in: 1-electroneuromyography 2-amplitude 3- duration 4-area 5-present of sign of regeneration But not significance in: 1-latency 2-present of positive sharp wave 3-motor unit. |
