Abstract

A thesis consists of three parts adding to Arabic and English summary and references.
The first chapter (Introduction):-
Review of recent study which related to the subject of this a thesis, a short note about nanotechnology and its application in water treatment and literature review on applications of nano-hydroxyapatite and nanomagnetic-hydroxyapatite adsorbents in removal of some metals and pollutants from aqueous solutions.
The second chapter (Experimental and lab measurements):-
This chapter has the experiments and measurements which used for preparations of adsorbents and study their properties. Also study the adsorption capacity towards heavy metals and some pollutants from their aqueous solutions at different conditions such as time, pH, concentration of metal ions and temperature.
The third chapter (Results and Discussions):-
In this chapter, results and discussion are presented and divided into two parts:
Part I:
In this part preparation of Nano-HAp, Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, via solution-precipitation method. In this method Ca(NO3)2.4H2O and (NH4)2HPO4 are used as starting materials and ammonia solution for pH adjustment. The ability of the resin adsorption has been study towards the iron, aluminum and cadmium ions from their aqueous solutions. The adsorbent shows high adsorption capacity. Also studying the factors affecting the adsorption behavior such time, pH, concentration of adsorbed ions and also determined the thermodynamic and kinetics reactions of resin. Appling the resin in removing of some pollutants
presented in real samples from Ismailia canal to confirm the efficiency of this adsorbent.
Part II:-
In this part, cupper ferrite has been prepared by sol gel technique using CuCl2 and FeCl3 in presence of CTAB as surfactant and then combined with nano-hydroxyapatite (NHAp). Studying adsorption towards iron, aluminum and cadmium ions from aqueous solutions. Studying the optimum conditions for adsorption of these ions at different conditions such as contact time, pH, dosage and initial concentrations. Determination of thermodynamic and kinetic parameters. Investigation the adsorption efficiency of this adsorbent toward pollutants from real samples.
