Abstract

Diabetes is an incremental problem all over the world. Both diabetes and wound problems are almost synchronous. It is known that assessment of virulence of some of bacteria causing chronic ulcers – especially in diabetic patients that lead to toe (s), foot, or leg amputations (below or above knee) that may cause death within 5 years due to residual bacterial toxins is a necessity. In-take of high doses of antibiotics is one of the most bodies damaging factor especially in diabetic patients and need to minimize all the chemotherapeutic treatments. This study aims at trying to find some other natural materials such as essential oils, chitosans and honey that have antimicrobial activities against virulent bacteria especially diabetic wound bacteria.
