Abstract A dose of intravenous TXA (10 mg per kg body weight average 1g) given at time of skin incision in in primary THA followed by another dose of intravenous TXA (10 mg per kg body weight average 1g) at time of wound closure is a cost-effective and safe means of minimising blood loss postoperatively and lowering the pecentage of reduction in haemoglobin concentrations as well as the Haematocrit values. |
