Abstract 1- Although the overall maturation rate did not vary significantly between cattle and buffalo oocytes, buffalo oocytes seem to exit MI and reach MII faster than those of cattle. 2- Extending the IVM period of buffalo oocytes to 24 h improved the developmental competence of buffalo oocytes as evidenced by the increase of fertilization, cleavage and morula formation rates. |
