diabetes mellitus on thyroid hormones, testosterone and C-peptide hormones in diabetic
patients.
Methods: A comparative study of effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus on levels of thyroid hormones, total testosterone and C-peptide in two groups healthy persons and diabetic
persons with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Results: The present study revealed that, the effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus in diabetic patients exhibited a highly significant decrease in serum total T3 hormone, total T4 hormone and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH ) levels as compared to control subjects.
In addition, the effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus in diabetic patients exhibited a highly significant decrease in serum total testosterone hormone level when compared to control subjects, which exerted a highly significant decrease in serum C-peptide hormone level in comparison to control subjects, and all that companied with significant increase in serum fasting blood sugar level.
In conclusion, type 2 diabetes mellitus affect on thyroid hormones, testosterone and Cpeptide hormones levels in diabetic patients.
Key words: Diabetes mellitus type 2; thyroid hormones; total testosterone; C-peptide.
