Abstract A significant decrease in left ventricular end systolic and diastolic volumes was noted immediately after percutaneous closure. Increased left ventricular end diastolic and end systolic dimeters for body surface area was reported in 17% and 44% of patients respectively. These change were reversible after percutaneous VSD closure. Percutaneous VSD closure is now an acceptable alternative to surgical closure of perimembranous VSD with very high procedural success rates.
