Abstract

Image fusion merges or overlays the multimodal images to provide additional information. It is one of the most commonly used methods in medical diagnosis. The objectives of this thesis are (i) understanding the image fusion, main components of the image fusion system, and the used techniques to solve the fusion problem as “Wavelet Transform”, “Curvelet Transform” and “Contourlet Transform”. (ii) Introduction to the proposed fusion techniques that improves the quality of image. (iii) Comparison between the traditional fusion techniques and the proposed fusion techniques using the evaluation system. (iv) Apply all techniques to a test set of 25 pair images, multi-focus images, multi- exposure images and three sets of biomedical images (Brain tumor- Alzheimer- The feet subset) and measure the performance. (v)Design a teleconsultation system- web based system that provides clinical health care from a distance.
