Abstract
Hysteroscopy is considered the gold standard technique for evaluating the uterine cavity, and due to improved endoscopic developments, can be performed reliably and safely as an office procedure. Office hysteroscopy is simple, safe and accurate method to evaluate the uterine cavity abnormalities
Office hysteroscopy was highly accurate in diagnosing organic lesions as polyps, myomas And endometrial cancer but less accurate in diagnosing endometrial hyperplasia in cases of abnormal uterine bleeding.
Office hysteroscopy is useful in patients with unexplained infertility as it may reveal endometrial lesions as polyps, small submucous myomas, partial adhesions and subseptate uterus. Such lesions are commonly observed with secondry infertility .
Abnormal findings were more common in patients with past history of failed one or more ICSI trial than in patients with first trial of ICSI (32% vs 24%).
Office hysteroscopy is as accurate as histopathology in diagnosing endometrial polyps, submucous myomas and endometrial carcinomas in both perimenopausal and postmenopausal patients.
In cases of endometrial hyperplasia office hysteroscopy was of acceptable accuracy in its diagnosis.

Office hysteroscopy is highly valiable simple technique that needed to be available in out patients clinics.
OB/ GYN specialists should be trained on conducting this procedure as outpatient service.
Office hysteroscopy should be part of basic infertility workup and can be done with every case of laparoscopy with out any extra effort or burden on patients or doctors.
Office hysteroscopy is better to be done befor ICSI procedures especialy cases with past history of failed one or more trial of ICSI.
we recommend office hysteroscopy to be done in cases of abnormal uterine bleeding as it diagnose many cases that were missed by transvaginal sonography.
Abnormal uterine bleeding patients needs to be evaluated by office hysteroscopy at the time of endometrial biopsy in order not to miss focal lesions as polyps, myomas or endometrial cancer.
