Abstract Field experiments was conducted at Faculty of Agriculture Farm in Minia University, during two successive seasons 2013 /2014 and 2014/2015 , to study the effect of three sowing methods, three weed controls on growth characters, yield and its component of three bread wheat cultivars. The experiment was laid out in Randomized complete Block Design (RCBD) using split – split plot arrangement with three replications , plot area was 10.5m2 (3m length and 3.5 m width).Sowing methods were allocated in main plot, cultivars were arranged as sub-plot and weed control methods were allocated as sub-sub plot as follows, Main plots,Three sowing methods:Afir drill, Afir terracing,Afir in furrows. Sub plot,Three wheat cultivars :Masr-2, Sids-12, Giza-168. Sub- Sub plot Three weed control : Hand weeding, Pallas (chemical control), Control. Grain yield was affected significantly by cultivars, sowing and weeds control methods in both season. Masr-2 cultivar significantly out yielded the other two cultivars, while the lowest grain yield/fed was produced from Giza-168 cultivar in both seasons. Afir drill and hand weeding followed by Pallas gave the highest grain yield / fed. in both season. |
