Abstract Many clinical trials in endodontic treatment have been done before, all of them aim to reach less painful procedure specially cases of non-vital teeth with apical periodontitis. The role of cetrimide (antibacterial effect, substantivity effect and surfactant effect) as an intracanal medication was not assessed before. The aim of the present study, Does the use of cetrimide as intracanal medication in cases of necrotic pulp with symptomatic apical periodontitis will minimize postoperative pain compared to gold standard calcium hydroxide?
