Abstract During this study examination of 170 fish samples were carried out ( 80 Tilapia nilotica, 50 sea bass, 20 mugil cephalus, 20 solea fish) which were collected alive from fish farms as solea fish and Mugil cephalus were collected from fish farms on Qarun lake at Fayoum, Tilapia nilotica collected from fish farms from Kafr Elsheikh and Port Said and sea bass collected from fish farms from Alexandria. Sixty one isolates were obtained from the internal organs of examined fish and identified by the conventional microbiological methods, API 20E and API 20 NE and VITEK2 system. Then only thirty five isolates were confirmed to be Vibrio spp. by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). They were divided into ten isolates of Vibrio cholerae, eight isolates of Vibrio alginolyticus, five isolates of Vibrio anguillarum, three isolates of Vibrio mimicus and nine isolates of unidentified Vibrio species. |
