Abstract
This study was conducted on 150-one day-old chick to phenotypically and genotypically identified E. coli strains as well as detection of their virulence and susceptibility to different antibiotics. Four hundred and fifty chicks swabs was taken from the heart , spleen and kidneys of day old chicks . The results of the serological identification of 42 isolates of E. coli isolated from one day old chicks revealed that, only 30 isolates could be typed and grouped under 10 different O sero groups, while 12 isolates were untypable by the available anti-sera. Results of antibiotic sensitivity disc of E. coli strains of one day old chicks showed that all of them were sensitive to Colistin, Cephradine, and Fosfomycin recorded 100% sensitive, while Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Doxycycline ,Spiramycine, Spectinomycine, Oxytetracyclin, Clindamycine and Erythromycine recorded 100% resistance.
