Abstract

The psychological impact of infertility is widely confirmed. It implies great stress on the couple and their relationship and also provokes a crisis that threatens self-image and identity. Quality of Life (QOL) is an important outcome measure characterized by its multidimensional nature & subjective evaluation of the patient to his illness. Studying satisfaction of these patients may help to decrease the crisis caused by infertility and also may help in improving the medical outcome. Personal, social, marital and sexual satisfaction are important predictors of QOL. They mutually affect each other and they are determined by various factors; some are socio-demographic as age, gender, educational level, occupation and some are concerned with dyadic behavior as spousal support, emotional intimacy, conflict, problem solving & some are family variables as length of marriage, parenthood, other life events as stress and certainly affected by infertility in many ways.
