Abstract

Neuroanesthesia continues to develop and expand. It is a speciality
where the experience of the anesthetist can directly influence patient outcome. Evolution of neurosurgical practice is accompanied by new challenges for the anesthetist. Monitoring and evaluation of brain functions during surgery is one of these recent challenge either electrically or in awake craniotomy operation, giving the neurosurgeon the opportunity to increase surgical precision of the lesion and minimize trauma to normal tissues, also to detect any problem occurs early and treat it before it becomes permanent which usually results from brain surgery (Dinsmore, 2011).
