Abstract

Ovarian cancer lead to high mortality rate if diagnosed at late stage. The aim of the present study was to increase survival rate by early disease diagnosis. A total of 21 females divided into three groups. The control (n=3), benign (n=8) and malignant group (n=10). We used flowcytometry to analyze cell cycle, caspase 3, 8 and annexin V. Also biochemical investigation for antioxidant markers The results showed that the annexin V expressed in malignant group more than benign and normal groups. Caspase 3 and 8 expression decreased in benign and malignant group than in normal group. Also sub G1 apoptosis level decreased significantly in benign and malignant group than in normal group. These data showed that (S phase) level had significant increase in malignant group than the control group and marked significant decrease in benign group than malignant group. This study explained changes in Sub G1 apoptosis for benign group increase significantly than malignant group level. The recent results showed that Ki-67 positively correlated with histological malignancy. In addition, there was increment in Ki-67 expression in malignancies than in benign tumors of ovary. The present study investigated the major advantage of antioxidant markers in the biological samples. TAC level significant decreased in benign and malignant cases than in normal, GSH in malignant group decreased significantly than in benign and control group, GPx activity in malignant group show observed significant decrease than its level in benign and control group, SOD significant decreased in malignant than Benign and control groups. While MDA significant increase in malignant group than in benign and control groups, H2O2 significant increase in malignant, than in benign group and control groups. With a steady progress in biomarker discovery using modern techniques and complex bioinformatics analytical tools, a reliable and successful ovarian cancer screening strategy will soon be available.
