Abstract

In the present work , the analysis of elastic scattering angular distributions for charged particles p, d. 3He and 4He scattering from light nuclei 7Li. 9Be and 11B has been performed within the framework of optical model using computer code (ECIS88 and FRESCO ). The analysis has been performed to assess its applicability to light nuclei. The main objective of the analysis was to explore the possibility of finding a set of optical model parameters that would reproduce the general features of charged particle scattering from light nuclei. The general spirit of the optical model is that it should describe the average properties of charged particles scattering, both with respect to energy of the incident particle and with respect to the mass of the target. Thus, if any Meaningful conclusions were to be drawn from the results, it was considered mandatory that the parameters vary smoothly with bombarding energy that they give a reasonable description of charged particles scattering from light nuclei..
