Abstract

Hepatitis c virus(hcv) infection is a systemic disorder which is often associated with a number of extrahepatic manifestations including glomerulonephritis.
Patients with HCV infection are found to have a higher risk of end stage renal disease.
HCV positivity has also been linked to lower graft and patient survivals after kidney transplantation.
Clinically, typical renal manifestations in HCV infected patients include proteinurea, macroscopic hematurea, hypertension, acute nephritis and nephritic syndrome
The aim of Our study aims at detection of different types of glomerulopathies in hepatitis c positive patients with proteinurea in Bani Suef.
Our study includes 50 Egyptian patients with HCV that were selected randomly from the internal medicine out-patient clinic of Beni-Suef University Hospital.
After excluding the presence of other causes of proteinura such as diabetes and autoimmune diseases renal biopsy was done to all HCV patients with proteinurea taking two cores and sent for examination with both light and electron microscopy.
-We send some biopsies for further evaluation by immunehistochemitry according to the light microscopic examination data.
- Various histological types of renal diseases were found in association with HCV infection including membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, membranous glomerulonephritis ,focal segmental glomerulonephritis and interstitial nephritis
-- Among the whole study population marked viremia was presented and only significally correlated with cryoglobulinemic MPGN
- We found that most of cryoglobulinemic patients had marked degree of viremia.
