Abstract This study aimed to assess the nursing staff opinion of the requirement adopt total quality management in Pediatric Care Unit Research design: A descriptive design was utilized in this study. Setting: The study was conducted at Pediatric Care Unit (ICU, Medical, Surgery) at Zifta hospital. Subject: A Purposive sample composed of 100 pediatric nurses working in the previously mentioned setting Tools of the study involved a Interviewing questionnaire; to assess the requirements and the constraints of the application of TQM. Results: it was clear that there was statistical significant difference between (level of education –attending seminar) of the studied sample and their opinion about concepts of total quality management. While there was no statistical significant difference between (age – gender –working shift-position) of the studied sample and their opinion about concepts of Total Quality Management. Conclusion: The current study concluded that most of the studied sample were agree about the total quality management adoption namely, concepts, reasons and the requirements of leadership, capability, training, communication and teamwork TQM. Also there was statistical significant difference between (level of education and attending seminar) of the studied sample and their opinion about total quality management. Recommendations: The study was recommended that Planning workshops for manager and staff pediatric nurses about total quality management to be effectively communicated to them. Continuous follow up and supervision for staff pediatric nurses to firmly implementation of standards of TQM. |
