Abstract

Clinicians and theorists have long regarded bipolar mood disorder to have a remitting course and a relatively favorable outcome .Manic-depressive illness had generally good prognosis with typically complete return to normal functioning between episodes. In the re” nt years, however, investigators have challenge this belief as evidence has begun to suggest that many bipolar mood disorders patients have recurrent episodes and do not have such favorable courses as was once believe.
Although it has been shown that the outcome of schizophrenia in
developing countries is better than in developed countries, however it can be attributed to psycho-social factors and less taxing for work in developing countries, but few studies has been done regarding the outcome of bipolar mood disorder in developing countries .Our aim is to study the different types of the outcomes of bipolar mood disorder, and probable predictors of the outcome . The outcome of bipolar mood disorder is not good as was once believed, There are possible preventable predicators of poor outcome in bipolar mood disorders.
