المستخلص The present study investigates the ability to make accurate predictions about the effect of some variables: religiousness, tolerance and psychological hardiness on the quality of life. The study, in addition, reveals how far we could make accurate predictions about the effect of some other demographic variables: sex (male - female), the living environment (north Yemen - south Yemen) and the level of education (first academic year - sixth academic year) on the quality of life among Yemeni advanced students. The sample is composed of (311) subjects, randomly selected and distributed according to: gender (63) female students and (237) male students; the place of residence (227) from north Yemen and (73) from south Yemen; and the level of education. Based on this, the study used the following statistical tools: religiousness scale, tolerance scale, psychological hardiness scale and the life quality scale. The study comes to the following findings: 0) Descending scale analysis of (T) value showed that there was a significant relationship between the quality of life as a whole and the psychological hardiness. On the contrary, the (T) value showed no statistical differences towards the other dimensions of the life quality, which means that religiousness and tolerance could not be considered as predicable. 2) Descending scale analysis of (T) value, as well, indicates that there was a significant relationship between the quality of life as a whole and sex, while it shows no obvious signification towards the other demographic variables. Put differently, the place of residence and the level of education make no predictions about the quality of life among Yemeni advanced students. |
