The food problem is the main problems facing Egyptian society, Agriculture in Egypt is the mainstay of the architecture of the Economic and Social. It contributes significantly to the creation of comprehensive development and associated activities more than half of the population, both in the production or marketing or manufacturing activity. The growing role of agriculture at the moment because the food issue is one of the most important strategic issues of political dimensions and social and economic in Egypt. Egypt is the most developing countries because of the increase of population which exceeded the increase of demand. this contributed to the expansion of the food gap and declining self-sufficiency rates for most major commodities and lower average per capita which leads to resort to imports from abroad to cover the deficit and bear the burdens of imports, especially in light invoiced exchange rate and the continuing rise in prices worldwide.
Study the problem of concentrated that in spite of efforts to increase production strategic food commodities and the most important of which wheat crop in order to increase self-sufficiency rate and narrowing the gap, but the quantities consumed are still moving toward continuous increase year after year, and rates above the increase in production as a result of the large increase of the population and improve the entry level, which led to increased gap and low rate of self-sufficiency in terms amounted to 58.07%. in 2014, which led to resort to imports from abroad and increase the burden on the Egyptian trade balance under the liberalization of the exchange rate of the Egyptian pound and the lower value for the dollar. Also the value of imports of wheat amounted to about 3210.0 million dollars in 2014 necessitated the infrastructure to study this important crop in the current situation and predict what it would be like in the future.
and targeted study to focus on the current status of the area and the productivity and production of wheat globally and locally, and the net yield and total costs and marketing margins and distribution pounds consumer of wheat, and learn about the food gap and the proportion of self-sufficiency of it during the study period as well as the evolution of the quantity and value of imports during the study period and geographical distribution of imports Egyptian wheat for the period (2008-2012), was the study of the standard models affecting imports and consumption and government support for wheat, with the study of the most important factors affecting the supply response of cultivated space of wheat in Egypt, has been studying the optimal demand for wheat model, and the outlook for the wheat crop in Egypt during the period. (2015-2020).
Contained study on the four chapter in addition to the findings and recommendations and a summary in Arabic and another in English, in addition to supplements and references, where the first chapter includes two section. The first section includes reference review of previous studies and the second section include the theoretical framework of the various policies of production indicators and consumption. The second chapter was interested in the study of global production indicators the Egyptian and the study of the most important supply response. Chapter Three focus on studying the indicators of global and Egyptian consumption and the average per capita consumption and the rate of self-sufficiency in wheat, the gap was standard models of the Egyptian demand for wheat futures for wheat and outlook studies have been studying the standard models of the factors influencing consumption and support wheat, Chapter four focus on handled the marketing of wheat globally and locally, in addition to factors affecting the Egyptian imports of wheat as well as describe the geographical distribution of Egyptian imports of wheat, finally studying the semi-optimal wheat application form.
