Abstract

It is found by EDHS that 80% of married women interviewed in EDHS were satisfied from contraception.
This study was done to measure level of women satisfaction of contraceptive methods they are using along with the related factors of demographic data and parity. Also to identify causes of dissatisfaction.
The study was a cross sectional study, interviewed questionnaire were used. Systematic random sample was used to collect data from 250 women.
The results revealed that majority of participant 50% were in the age group between 30-40 years old, education status was 45.2% illiterate, read and write. IUDs (intra uterine devices) were the most commonly used form of contraceptives (36.8%).
Also the results showed that subjects were satisfied with over all the five categories “satisfaction with management of contraceptive associated problems”, “satisfaction with provided information about selection of contraceptive methods”, “satisfaction with provided information about technique of usage of contraceptive methods”, “satisfaction with getting information at possible side effects” and “satisfaction with provided visits by health center”. There was statistically significant difference between socio-demographic characteristics, parity characteristics of studied group and satisfaction of five categories. There was positive correlation between age and total satisfaction score.
