Abstract The present investigation was carried out at on sandy loamy at Demo Agriculture experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fayoum University, Egypt, to study the behavior of some wheat varieties when grown in three sowing dates and using three irrigation intervals. Highly significant effect for sowing dates on plant height (cm.), number of leaf per plant, dry weight per plant, leaf area per plant, crop growth rate and relative growth rate in two growth stages . The superiority was for sowing at 30th November followed by 15th November at all growth characters. The effect of irrigation intervals was highly significant on plant height and number of leaves per plant at ripping stage , dry weight per plant and leaf area per plant at two stages , the greatest values were obtained by irrigation every 21 followed by 28days. The differences among wheat varieties were highly significant on growth characters attwo growth stages , also crop growth rate and relative growth rate. The superiority was for Sids12 variety in all growth characters. Growth characters at two growth stages ,CGR and RGR were highly significantly affected by the bilateral and trio-interactions between sowing date , irrigation intervals and wheat varieties , except sowing date x irrigation intervals and sowing date x wheat varieties on number of leaves per plant at flowering stage and sowing date x irrigation intervals x wheat varieties on the same character at two growth stage . At harvest , significant or highly significant effect for sowing dates for all studied treats i.e., plant height (cm.), spike length (cm.), number of spikelets/spike, number of plants/m2, number of grains/spike, weight of grains/spike, seed index (g.), grain yield and biological yield except harvest index (%). The superiority was for moderate and late sowing according to all characters. Irrigation intervals had highly significant effect on all studied characters except number of spikelets/spike . Irrigation every 28days gave the greatest values in seed index , number of plant/m2 , biological yield , and grain yield (ton/faddan), but at 35 days produced the highest number of grains/spike , weight of grains/spike. Highly significant difference were observed among wheat varieties for yield and yield components except number of spikelets/spike. Sids12 variety exceed the other two varieties. Significant and highly significant effect with regard to the interaction between sowing dates and irrigation intervals on all characters except harvest index.
