Abstract Breast surgery has changed over last year’s significantly, as conservative breast surgery has been increased. The balance between the safe resection and keeping esthetically accepted results is challenging. Multiple studies compare radical excision and oncoplastic breast surgery and concluded that oncoplastic breast surgery is safe. Awareness of breast screening & increased use of mammography with ultrasonography, these made smaller and impalpable tumors easily diagnosed and early detected, consequently the number of breast conserving surgery increased. Oncoplastic breast surgery depends on wide local excision with adequate margin of normal tissue while keeping good esthetic result. The aim of this work was to study the feasibility of applying different surgical oncoplastic techniques during the course of breast cancer surgery for operable breast cancer that are suitable for BCS as the surgical line of treatment, in addition; its impact on improving the resection abilities, aesthetic outcome and patient satisfaction was recorded. This study included twenty female patients suffering from early breast cancer stages I & II were submitted to history taking, physical examination and metastatic work up, during surgery the tumor was excised with safety margin using oncoplastic techniques superior pedicle reduction mammoplasty, lateral reduction mammoplasty, inferior pedicle reduction mammoplasty, local glandular flaps. |
