Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network is composed of a huge number of small devices with low battery
known as sensor nodes. Every sensor nodes has a battery with restricted energy resources.
These nodes can organize themselves to form networks this network can be used in radiation
field and sense the following conditions in it as (temperature, moving vehicle, pressure and
radiation) then transfers the required data to the user.
Wireless sensor network provides the means of developing a sensor node with low weight,
cheap processor and less power.
WSN applied in radiation field has a lot of challenges as data gathering (represents collecting
the required sensed data from nodes and transmitting it), data latency (represents delay in
receiving the data by user from sensor nodes), energy consumption (represents energy used by
sensor nodes for sensing, gathering the data and transmitting it to the user) and network
lifetime (number of nodes still alive after end the process of sensing, aggregation of data and
transmitting it). Actually routing protocols will be studied to identify which of them that
provides high network performance. First WSN challenges are studied, and then LEACH
from hierarchy and direct diffusion from data centric will be investigated under three mobility
models (random way, Reference point group mobility and Manhattan mobility model). The
evaluation will be performed by using these metrics parameters as (packet delivery ratio,
throughput, average delay, and average energy ratio and network lifetime).
There are two modified proposed approaches to make the network performance get better.
Proposed 1(enhanced assisted LEACH without BS) and proposed 2 (enhanced assisted
LEACH with BS). The modified approaches will be compared with Assisted LEACH and
LEACH routing protocols.
from simulation results it is concluded that LEACH upgrades network performance than
direct diffusion routing protocol at Manhattan and RPGM mobility model, proposed 1 makes
better network efficiency than A LEACH without BS, proposed 2 progress network
performances than A LEACH with and A LEACH without BS and LEACH. Therefore we
can conclude that EA LEACH with BS (proposed 2) provides the best network performance as it increases packet delivery ratio, increases throughput, increases network lifetime , reduces
average energy ratio and decreases average delay.
