Abstract Soft tissue reconstruction of the foot continues to emerge as a viable alternative for treating chronic wounds with this in mind; in this essay we explore a variety of techniques, ranging from skin grafts to pedicle flaps to microvascular free tissue transfer which can be used to close longstanding, recalcitrant wounds in the foot and ankle. |
