Abstract Unilateral hearing loss (UHL) can be defined as unaidable hearing in one ear and normal in the other ear. Adults with UHL report difficulties in sound localization and understanding speech in noisy environments. Speechevoked auditory brainstem response (S-ABR) provides cues for temporal and spectral encoding of speech in the brainstem. Moreover, Laboratory studies confirm that S-ABR recording in noise increases its sensitivity in evaluating auditory processing and related disorders. |
