Abstract T1G3bladder cancer is a high grade non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) which remains a difficult situation to manage even in tertiary centers and represent about 5 to 23% of NMIBC at first diagnosis. Objective: To review clinic-pathological characteristics and managements of T1G3 urinary bladder transitional cell carcinoma and evaluation the results of management, recurrence and progression of the disease in the cases presented to Egypt National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo University. Subject and methods: Retrospective study for 53 patients with T1G3 bladder TCC registered at the NCI between January 2003 and December 2010. Results: 46 (86.8%) patients were male and 9 (13.2%) were female. The mean age was 62.4 with range of (35-88).final analysis was made at median follow up of 20 months. 33(62.2%) patients were smoker and 30 (56.6%) patients had history of bilharziasis. 43 (81.1%) patients present with hematuria while 31(58.5%) patients present with dysuria. At initial cystoscopy 31(58.5%) patients had multiple lesion. 28 (52.8%) patients had small lesion <3cm. 32(60.4%) patients had papillary lesion. 33 patients had recurrence with recurrence rate of 62.3%. Recurrence lesion size<3cm observed in 23(69.7%) patients. While 18 (54.5%) patients had single lesion at. |
