Abstract The current study was designed to improve the reproductive efficiency of postpartum buffalo–cows suffering from ovarian dysfunctions (ovarian subfunction, silent heat, ovarian luteal cyst and persistent corpus luteum) by application of several synchronization protocols including: 1. Use of CIDR-Ovsynch protocol for subfunction ovary. 2. Use of Ovsynch protocol for subfunction ovary. 3. Use of propylene glycol –phosphrous-Gonasir (PPG) protocol for subfunction ovary. 4. Use of Ovsynch protocol for silent heat. 5. Use of G+Ovsynch protocol for ovarian luteal cyst. 6. Use of double dose of prostaglandin F2α protocol,12-14 days interval. A total number of 250 postpartum buffalo-cows previously not detected in estrus 60 days or more after parturition the animals belonged to Ganat El-Reda buffalo–cows farm, Ismailia governorate, Egypt. All buffalo-cows were exposed to rectal, vaginal and ultrasonography examinations to verify the normal postparturient uterine involution, resumption of follicular activity and absence of any pathological conditions in the genitalia. The ovaries are monitored by rectal palpation and ultrasound examination, for the presence of ovarian structures. |
