Abstract Primary open angle glaucoma is a disease characterized by gradual loss of ganglion cells due to increased intraocular pressure. Visual field testing is the main tool used for diagnosis and follow up. Multifocal electroretinogram is a new method in electrophysiology testing. Patients with POAG showed increased latency of the waves produced by the mf ERG when compared to normal subjects. No difference in the amplitude of waves when comparing both groups. Also no difference was found between different stages of glaucoma regarding amplitude and latency. |
