Abstract Twenty adult females suffering of premenstrual syndrome, ten symptom-fi•ee controls and ten postmenopausal women \vere compared as regard, plasma /1-endorphin. senun prolactin, 2 progesterone, estradioL Mg+ and Ca+2 during the late luteal and follicular phases of their menstrual cycles. The results showed that hormonal and biochemical profiles of females with PMS and controls were inconclusively similar except for low circulating plasma /3-endorphin and serum 2 Mg+ levels in the late luteal phase ofPMS. High serum Ca+2 level during the follicular phase of PMS sufferers is. most probably, an additional characteristic parameter. |
