Abstract The current study investigates the effectiveness of the Natural Approach Program on developing six year primary school pupils’ EFL oral communication skills. The study group consisted of 70 sixth primary school pupils. The group studied natural approach program in 11 sessions. To examine the effectiveness of NA program, an EFL oral communication skill test was developed by the researcher and administered to the pupils as pre-and post-tests. The paired sample t-test was used to compare the performance of the pupils on the pre-and post-tests. Statistical analysis showed significant improvements in the pupils’ oral communication skills. These findings were attributed to the natural approach program that was based on cooperative learning opportunities, the supportive role of the researcher, interactive activities and the choice of relevant and interesting topics. Therefore, suggestions based on the research results were offered. |
