Abstract
clinical suspicious of candidaemia for isolation and differentiation of
causative organisms. These samples collected from Intensive care
unit and hematology department in Internal medicine hospital at
Ain- Shams University. from the May 2009 to September 2010.
Single venous blood sample was collected from each patient.
Blood culture for each specimen followed by subculture on
CHROMagar media (HiMedia-India) and Sabouraud’s dextrose
agar media.
Ten cases were positive on both media.Gram stain,Germ tube
test was done to isolated colonies from sabouraud’s and the result
was 4 C.albicans and 6 non C.albicans.On chrOMagar media we
identified spp. by color without further tests.We did API as
confirmation test to identification by chrOMagar and the result
was the same.Antifungal Susceptibility Testing was done to the
isolated organisms.
