Abstract

This study was conducted on 20 patients with ischemic stroke and found a significant correlations between the degrees of Tractography defined CST damage and the severity of motor impairment in acute ischemic stroke. A significant correlation between the degree of CST damage at baseline and motor scores at the outcome phase of stroke is also found.

The diagnosis and treatment of a stroke is a wide field of research, because of the direct impact of the stroke on the patient’s life. With the development of the tools used in the detection of the stroke, locating it and taking the decision in an attempt to remove the thrombus by a surgical intervention or using medical treatment. There is difficulty in determining the period between the onset of stroke and attendees to hospital, when stroke occurs during sleep or in the elderly or diabetics.
Since the introduction of DTI which is based on detection of restricted fluid in the walls of nerve fibers involved in the formation of neural pathways and especially motor tracts where it was used to determine the degree of affection in these tracts.
Our study determine that the effect of the stroke does not depend on its size only but depends on the location and the function of the affected area. When
