Abstract Frequently, loud snoring may be a sign of a common and potentially a serious disorder called sleep apnea, in which breathing repeatedly stops or becomes very shallow while sleeping. As a consequence we spend more time in light sleep and less time in deep sleep which is needed to be energetic, mentally sharp and productive in the next day. This sleep deprivation results in day time sleepiness, slow reflexes, poor concentration and increased risk of accidents. |
