Abstract • The main objective of this work was to apply a simple method to treat wastewaters, which was only oxygen supply. The modern methods in wastewaters treatments are complex and economically very expensive. The application of this simplest method fits our economic circumstances in Egypt and at the same time leads to the main purpose of treatment, which is the removal of organic matter. This method is simply harnessing microbes found naturally in the wastewater to oxidize its content of organic matter. • The differences between aerobic and anaerobic biological treatment processes were also discussed. The comparison between the two processes focuses on their efficiency on removal of organic matter, nitrate nitrite and phosphorus. Effects of the two processes on total count of bacteria and coliform group were studied. • The studied wastewaters contained high quantities of organic matter expressed either COD, BOD the slaughterhouses wastewater contained highest amount of organic matter. |
