Abstract This work focuses on the study of the effect of inlet blade angles of (90⁰, 115⁰, 125⁰ and 135⁰), and blades numbers of (21, 31, 41 and 51) on the performance of regenerative blower at different rotational speeds of (1000, 2000, and 3000 rpm). The investigations are carried out theoretically, numerically and experimentally. A mathematical model that is based on momentum exchange theory to handle one inlet angle and two exit angles for the regenerative pump impeller blades was proposed previously and is modified to be applied for the regenerative blower. The experimental results show that the pressure head and the efficiency depend strongly on the blades number and inlet blade angles and the maximum blower efficiency obtained at an inlet blade angle of 125°. |
