Abstract This study is to evaluate liver disorders presented in type one diabetic child which considered as a cause ,an association or a complication diabetes. Results : There are significant liver disorders in diabetic children type 1 that result from inappropriate control of serum glucose level and result in excess glycogen and fat deposition in the liver with increase in amino transaminases .but it is an acute and reversible condition that reversed by good glycemic control. Conclusions : Diabetic children especially type one should be followed up regularly by proper adjustment of serum glucose level and insulin dose to prevent any future complications as liver fibrosis and early detection and treatment of the cases. Recommendations : - We recommend for large scale studies focusing on early detection of any hepatic disorders resulting from poor controlled type one diabetes with continuous monitoring for reversal of these alterations by proper management of hyperglycemia. - More studies are needed to discuss the high risk of HCV infection in diabetic children type 1 especially in rural and low socio economic environment giving awareness about the ideal method for infection control modalities. |
