Abstract

The components of biogas production system have a great effect on biogas production values from manure animal wastes. The main source of heating this system was solar energy system. In addition, the digesters which were desigend at two types (vertical and horizontal) at experimental places and directly connected with a solar energy system. Therefore the study of these components from biogas values point of view was crucially important. Thus, a series of tests were carried out to evaluate the biogas production system under different parameters. The present investigation was carried out under mesophillic conditions in the winter season 2014. The mesophillic conditions need a range of temperature from 30 oC to 45 oC. this range is not provided in the winter season because the ambient air temperature during this season ranges from 5 oC to 20 oC during night and day light, respectively. Therefore, an evacuated tube solar collector system was employed to provide the digester system by the suitable temperature range. This solar collector supplement with an electrical heater to operate the system at night and during cloudy days. Energy from the biogas assumed great importance owing to energy crisis and short supply of other resources. Routing biogas, including animal wastes, through biogas plant digester not only results in the generation of clean fuel (biogas) but also produces nutritionally rich organic manure (slurry) for agricultural applications in cropping particularly in newly reclaimed areas.
