The study aims to identify the impact of drains to improve productivity of some field crops. An after-before comparison is carried for productivity per feddan for main crops. Two main tools are employed to achieve such goal; first, income and costs analysis, second, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) analysis tool. The study estimated the potential increase in production and excess in costs for all studied crops assuming Constant Return to Scale and (CRS) and Variable Return to Scale (VRS). The study relied on both primary and secondary data. A questionnaire have been designed, in addition to published and unpublished data by Ministry of Agriculture and the Central Agency for Public Mobilization Statistics.
