Abstract The present investigation used six divergent cotton genotypes as parents. These genotypes were (Giza 85, Giza 91, C.B. 58, Karashanky, Giza 95 and )Giza 90 × Australian().All the genotypes used in this study belong to (G. barbadense, L.). These genotypes (six parents, their 15 F1 hybrids and 15 F2 populations) were crossed in a half-diallel genetic design according to Griffing’s method II, model I (1956). The main objectives of the present investigation were to determine heterosis, general and specific combining ability, broad sense heritability and inbreeding depression for earliness, yield and yield component traits and fiber quality and properties. |
